Applying mind to muscle

By challengersclub2008

Fitness and golf is a new relationship when you compare say tweeds and golf. In fact it’s a recent trend and many golfers have questions about how and how much to train. There’s a common misconception that golfers fear muscle and pay attention to driving and putting alone. In fact some even associate a muscular build to being slow on the uptake or less refined with stroke play.

Here’s an effort to clear the air about golf and a muscular build. A few days ago I received mail about a new exercise program for muscle building and physique tightening. What piqued my interest was the fact that the program was devised by someone who was 40 plus; not an eager young trainer with biceps on his brain. In fact, a look at his before and after pictures was a revelation.

To describe Jon Benson’s 7-Minute Muscle program in two words, simple and doable. This program won’t make you bulky or too large and is ideally suited to men and women of all ages. A 7-minute workout with resistance training and 9 minutes of cardio, few times a week is all the program entails. That’s an hour every week. There are plenty of studies to confirm benefits of shorter, more intense workouts, and warn about the danger of training too hard so as to dampen the fat burner. According to Benson, the secret is in learning when to train hard, and when to rest and recoup. He is also firm in his belief that you need to put your mind into your muscle. Or that though time is the greatest barrier to fitness; workouts can be short and very effective when the body goes where the mind directs.
